1911-22

Postby jetter79 on Tue Jan 14, 2014 1:42 pm

I just picked up a 1911-22.. I did not believe how hard it is to find 22lr in the Blaine area.. I always been reading about ppl on here having a hard time just didn't believe it.. Yes I know I could get at some places or ppl but they are asking crazy prices. If anyone know the routine or secrets when they put it on the shelf any info would be helpful you can PM me if you don't want to write it on here. Those my first 22 thats why I have not stock piled up yet. Thanks for reading just wanted to get a little venting out there.

Sorry, don't have a secret decoder ring to tell when ammo is available, wish I did. In the past I would shoot a couple bricks a month easy...not anymore.
Plenty of pricks out there going to Wally and Fleet everyday, buying everything available and marking it up 100%. :x

Check that new walmart on 65 and 117th as I have seen its inventory of most calibers a bit better than the other stores recently. Also stop into Capras on 65 and about 89th, which may have some even if at higher prices.

Good luck.

Contrary to your belief, being in the right place at the right time does not make someone a prick. So quit your whining.

The secret is to buy it before the crisis.

LePetomane, you are correct!. Being in the right place at the right time does not make you a prick.
But, taking the ammo you are lucky enough to find and marking it up 100% and trying to sell it again....that IMHO makes a person a prick.

Yup, 100% markup is not cool, but there is a solution, don't buy it.

If you invest any time 22lr is out there, heck on the thanksgiving sales, GM in Rogers had a pallet of it and no one in the store. I even posted it here to get folks a heads up. I picked up a few thousand rounds for personal use(no it is not for sale), the people working the store even said they were surprised it did not draw a crowd.

So if you really want it, put in some time and go find it instead of complaining about those of us that do.

I think Gander and Cabela's will likely your best bet. But your going to have to put some effort in to finding it.

Natchez is listing American Eagle on their website now for $3.99 per box of 50, limit 10.

I will never apologize for being an American.

The answer is simple. Don't buy it from a reseller. I have a lot of .22lr ammo and if I were interested in selling I would sell it for exactly what I paid for it.

I scored some .22 at Gander Mountain in Woodbury this morning @ $2.49 per 50. I imagine it's probably all gone by now, but you could always call them and ask if there's any left.

Yeah, I grabbed the 10 box max cause I hadn't seen any in weeks of trying to find it, and so did another guy who was there, and there were still at least another 10-20 boxes on the shelf after we were done, so I guess probably 2 more people got some. Hopefully they and other retailers will continue to get it in so that others will be able to buy it. Sure would be nice if we could get back to being able to walk into any sporting goods store and walk out with whatever amount of .22 we want.
