I guess I'll have to get with the times and consider $5 - $6 a box to be today's cheap. Like I said, sticker shock. It's a summer league, but I was hoping to shoot all year round to try and improve what I've lost during the hiatus.

As igofast mentioned, Winchester has a $2/box rebate on AAs right now (min 10 boxes, max 50). After rebate, that brings the price of the AAs at Dick's down to $7/box - what you would pay for Gun Clubs nearly anywhere.

Because that's really not a very good of price. I think the 100 round bulk packs are $27.95. That's $7 per box of 25. You'd be better off buying them in 25 round boxes from FF.

Just picked some up at the Vadnais Walmart last week. They are down to $19.97 now.

I'm not much of a shotgun shooter so I guess I really didn't know what 12ga prices "should be". I just mentally compared 12ga bulk packs to handgun rounds and figured $0.25-$0.32 per bang was cheap (or at least quite reasonable).

Where To Buy Target Shotgun Ammo

I remember back in the day when federal target load was something like $3.99 a box. Those days are long gone. Fleet farm and gander sell it for about what a decent price is. Also, never shop at dicks, I thought we have been over this.

Yes, say no to Dick's. Dicks are bad. Dicks are racist dicks when it comes to black guns. Never shop at Dicks.

No one mentioned Wal-Mart? Always has seemed to be the cheapest to me for cheap trap loads.

It was mentioned a couple times. $19.97 for the bulk pack. $5 a box.

If you catch Walmart on the roll back prices you can find top gun for 5.79 a box. Best price I have found this year.

Under 6 a box for practice "cheap" loads is doing good these days. I just picked up more flats than I care to mention of Federal Premium Gold Metal for about 75.00 a flat delivered from Midway, which worked out to be cheaper than AA's even after their rebate. Plus, no rebate to mess with.

L&M Supply in northern MN had "cheap" target loads for $5.99 per box, or $54.99 per case. About the cheapest around.

I believe that's after $10 mail in rebate this time. Hopefully we'll see them for $60 with no rebate again someday.

Doesn't hurt to check where you shoot too. If you are willing to buy bulk (and pay cash) you can often get a decent deal. Also some clubs might do bulk orders once or twice a year. I know last winter/spring Rick Wilder at Metro was taking orders for $58 a case.
