I've wondered, how long will Cabela's normally hold it for you to pick up?

I have recently started buying from freedom munitions. So far so good. 1st order ships free. 22 cents a round for 9mm and about 35 cents for 223 IIRCC.

3 weeks - but will go longer if you call and let them know.

re: Palmetto - they run free shipping promo's about every other month

re: Sportsman's Guide - if your a member there are some good deals with coupons. For me shipping/handling/tax almost always end up offsetting any discount coupon. You would think shipping would be cheap being in the same state.

re: internet sales in general - never had any issues. As others have said - watch for shipping charges as they can be substantial and include them in your price per round.

Its not just palmetto. Anything from the southeast ( fl, ga etc) can have substantial freight to it.

I follow prices on Lucky Gunner and Bulk Ammo. The shipping offsets the tax saving but that's fine with me.

Don't about ammo but when on the road I frequently purchase items to be delivered to a store I will be near later and have gotten things weeks later. I do let them know when I order that it might be that long.

Cabela's wants us to pick up ammo within 2 weeks after arriving at the store. They will hold it a lot longer with a simple phone call to the store. Just have your order number(s) handy when you call.

I don't know if i could beat Wal-Mart's price for their 9mm Perfecta by ordering online. Brass case, boxer primed, made in Italy. <$.22/rd, plus tax, and readily available.

Used this site a couple times to find cheap factory fodder.
