I do remember seeing 500-ish count bulk packs for around $13.xx at Walmart sometime before 2008, but with a per-round cost down into the 3 cent range I'm happy with the current situation. Now I just need to get out and shoot more!

How much would you say natural inflation would account for increases? Seems unrealistic to expect prices would completely revert to PRE levels.

This tool says that an item worth $10 in 2003 would cost $13.72 today. I picked 2003 as an arbitrary year a few years before the run-up on prices and significant onslaught against gun rights started in force. So, if a 525 pack of Federal bulk .22 cost $13.50 in 2003 it would be expected to be $18.52 today. That's an increase from 2.5 cents to 3.5 cents per round. Using that as a rough basis, if you can find bulk .22 today for under 4 cents per round you're doing about as good as you would have been back then.
