As a small business owner I would want to hear from anyone who had a bad experience with us and have a chance to correct it. I have one guy working full time on the website and we still can't always keep up on changes or mistakes. So I would think that Strichers would like to hear from you, just in case there is a mistake on their website and or to educate their employee's on where they should be checking. Not suggesting this happened, but I have had a couple of times people call about something and they were actually quoting a different website and then I get "oh never mind".

Streicher's Customer Service:

I would agree that they typically have pretty good customer service. I have only been disappointed once... Last year I bought an almost new Glock 27, the previous owner put a Trijicon front sight on, but did not do the rear. Anyway, I stopped by Streicher's to have a rear sight put on, only to find out when I get home that the sight was dated five years ago (the front was dated '08). I brought the gun back in the next day... They apologized and put a new front and rear sight on. They took care of the problem, I just thought it was poor that they let it happen in the first place.

With that being said, I stopped by the store yesterday afternoon to buy a couple of items, one of those was out of stock. This was not a big deal and I told the guy I would just stop by and pick one up whenever they get the item back in again. He apologized several times, looked on the computer and saw that the Milwaukee location had several in stock. He offered to have the item mailed to me.... Long story short he is having the item shipped overnight to me free of charge.

I thought this was pretty impressive, especially considering the item I bought only cost $5.99 and it more than likely is costing them more than that to ship it to me.

Point is, you can not always base your opinion on one experience, they are pretty solid overall.

I have had good experience with them everytime I have shopped there.
It says this on their website....
"Streicher's has been providing public safety equipment to you since 1953! We are the most progressive supplier in the industry. We support our customers with the best possible service, highest quality products, and the best possible prices."

"Streichers is a Combat Veteran Owned Small Business."
I do not know the owner of the company, but I bet they will make things right for the OP.

My 2 cents worth.. :)

Streichers are good people, and when some people splash crap before attempting resolution they tromp all over the internet, foolish. I have always has great service, that can not be said about Uniforms Unlimited aka Uniforms Unavailable, and Cy's now Keeper's. And, my former employer in the past was a good customer of them for lightbars, sirens, and other gear. And, they did a great job! They are home grown and we should support the local guys!

I have shopped Stretcher's twice, both times on weekends, The first time they didn't acknowledge me (store was empty, I was searching through holsters), which was ok since they didn't have what I wanted. The second time there was a SWAT guy in front of me in line and the 2 employees were more interested in BSing with him than allowing me to purchase my ammo, I put it back and left after more than 5 min. I kinda get the "cops only" vibe.

I've only been in Streichers twice, once I bought some ammo, second time nothing at all.
Both times I was practically killed with kindness. Friendly, attentive, helpful. Staff could not have cared less that I was not a LEO.
Remember, gun control is not about guns, it's about control.

I have never seen the staff at Streicher's treat any customers poorly or intentionally ignore them. That being said they are a store that does specifically cater to law enforcement public safety so....?

Well, I have been to Streicher's and I hereby officially eat my words in the original post, with a bit of Gopher coney sauce on top to make it palatible. They are very nice, apart from some of the scroungy street people they let in the door to wander around. (Handle begins with "1911") For a second I thought I was in Stand-Up Frank's!!

As far as I can tell, there were extenuating circumstances on both sides, and I'm not sure all the relevant facts were told to begin with. Enough said. I left with about $170 worth of goodies, including a closed out Galco Miami Classic shoulder rig for $55!!

P.S. The used gun prices at Gander Mountain still suck arse more than a 3M middle manager trying to get promoted!!

That to me seems like great customer service... They recognized their mistake, and you came out ahead because of it... I'm not sure what more you could ask for. The best measure of a company's value of the customer is how they handle their mistakes.

I agree that it was good customer service... I only thought it was disappointing that they did not catch it in the first place. And I would not say I came out ahead... I had to make a two hour round trip to get what I should have gotten in the first place. They did put a new '08 vintage front sight on, BUT it already had an '08 vintage front sight on, so it did not really do much for me.
