newb's 1st batch of .40 s&w

Postby MrVvrroomm on Sun Apr 19, 2009 6:34 pm

I just finished my first batch of 40. Actually it was 2 batches of 50. I'm wading into it slowly.

First 50 were Montana 155gr FMJ with 231.

Second 50 were Montana 180gr FMJ with No. 9.

I'm heading out tomorrow to see how they shoot.
May I assume you're not here to inquire about the alcohol or the tobacco?

I trust you did a stair step approach to loading? Meaning that you loaded 10 rds of several charge wts........ to check for function? Accuracy? Safety?

I loaded 2 batches of 50 each, 2 different bullets. I loaded them on the light end of the current data I have.

I put them down range a few hours ago. I'm very pleased. I'm heading out to the range with a fresh batch of .45 acp.

Make smaller test batches in the future.....could save you a lot of time with the kinetic bullet puller! Always do a stair step work up so you can exact the best accuracy.....
