Put in an order online. So far, it is at minimum a three month wait and I would count on another month; so if I were you, I would put in an order whatever you can use in 4 months or so, and then, when you receive them, place an identical order adjusted for the actual amount of time it too you to receive them. The HAZMAT fee is worth it if you throw in some powder that you don't otherwise have easy access too.
Primers are about the only component of a round of ammunition that can't be fairly easily made by the private sector. Smokeless powder is a little tough, because it requires Nitroglycerin to manufacture it and then to make the "type" of smokeless powder you are looking for might be difficult, but in a pinch, that information will start circulating. But the obvious pinch point is the component that is most desired and quickly depleted and that is primers; so, that is how they got us by the balls ... ah, primers. Primers are easy to make in bulk, fairly light weight and yet, the hardest to find.
You could get a new lease on life -- if only you didn't need the first and last month in advance.
