Leo is not making bullets, can't get enough lead to fill the gun shop orders and isn't even doing enough to meet the needs of his regular local customers. You can try calling him, but a few weeks ago he told me to check back in the end of March.

Not really, Leo has a lot of irons in the fire and casting bullets is just one of them. He has maybe had a setback in production of cast bullets, but I don't think he is closing his shop, not even close. Leo does gunsmithing, custom reloading with factory jacketed bullets, among other things. So it may be a slow down for him, but I don't think that in any way he is closing shop.

Georgia Arms, last time I looked, which was last week, it was 240 for 1k rounds. Which is $12 per 50, about 10 bucks a box cheaper than WWB at wally world.

I ordered from http://www.precisionbullets.com awhile ago and liked them just fine. For awhile though it was cheaper to buy Ranier Leadsafe bullets at Cabelas but it looks like that has really changed

I consume lots of plated Berry Bullets for practice and have no complaints.

Have you ever shot Precision Bullets for comparison? Per 1000 they are $17 less but people always seem hesitant about them and I don't know why. I usually use Ranier plated bullets cause they were cheap at Cabelas but I am running low. I had ordered 250 Precision bullets in the past and they seemed to be just fine so I'm curious what people think before I make a possibly large order.

It's not a metal plating.

Q: What is the coating?
A: We use a proprietary solid dry film lubricant. This is similar to the moly/poly coatings on the market but is much tougher. We bake the coating onto the bullets, then restrike the bullets in carbide dies after the coating is applied.

This is one with a hole drilled in it and then heated with a blow torch until the lead runs out. It's crumpled from the vacuum that causes, they are just as smooth as Berry's Plated (the only other ones I have used):
