How would these work running on DC? They look like they might work pretty well in my portable ice house.

Any idea on the draw? I might just be interested in a 2' rope light setup. would need about a 6' lead with alligator clips.

I'm estimating around .008 amps per LED, minimum of 3 LED's per section so call it .03 amps or 30 mA per 3 LEDs to be safe for planning? The standard 6 LED stick light should draw 50-60 mA @ 12vDC

.08 W each on these and 60 per meter. Just short of 300 lumens per lamp. Strings are $3.50 per foot for non-waterproof and $4.50 a foot for waterproof. Alligator clips are up to you.

Very interested in your original posting, just concerned about mounting on a RCBS AmmoMasterII press, a Redding T7 press, and a RCBS RockChucker press, using only 1 powersupply and on-off micro-switches on each press, with 4 to 6 foot run between presses.

The longer version for the inside of a safe has a lot of interest from me. I'll do some measuring and send a PM to see what the cost would be.

LED Loader lights etc

Postby LarryFlew on Sun Mar 30, 2014 10:55 am

Back in town as of this weekend - almost missed the snow NOT. Now just doing the longer version since the square is no longer available. Still $12 plus $5 shipping and shipping will cover up to 3 of them. Also doing longer versions for whatever your use is $12 plus additional $4.00 a foot in either bright white or warm white. Shipping is the same. These are 5050 LEDs which are very bright. I also have it in 5630 which IMO is a little too bright for reloaders but would be $5 a foot and the same $12 and shipping.

Will be making first Wednesday lunch this week.

It's a great idea...and the price makes it almost silly to DIY.

When life allows me to get rolling...I'll probably try one. Won't know yet since I am going to use my office and I will be between to windows in a corner with an overhead light. Maybe for cloudy days!
