.223 ammo

If anybody is looking for some. Dicks at Burnsville center has a few hundred rounds on the shelf. UMC and crap reload bulk packs but if you're desperate to go shooting this weekend it'll go bang.

.223 ammunition is nowhere to be found in the Twin Cities. I made phone rounds today and came up blank. Both of the Cabelas stores are out as is Gander Mountain Woodbury and Hoffy's. I'm glad I cleaned out WalMart when I did. I'll be headed to Texas to visit my son and will make a haul there.

Soon we will be like the third world countries where ammunition is used as currency.

When and where did the Blaine store open?

I didn't look too hard at 223 prices but 9mm prices were about where they always are at gander. $20 more per 250 than Wally World. But they were that price 2 months ago so no real change that I saw.

Gander has .223 in stock (Federal) in the 100 round bulk pack and 20 round black boxes (AE223) - none was priced but there was a pallet of ammo being unloaded and it looked like plenty more hanging out... I expect it was more than the $9.99 per box Cabelas is charging for the same stuff and had in stock up in Rogers about 30 minutes earlier (10 box per customer limit now in effect). Dick's had boxes of TulAmmo steel cased for $7.99 a box over in Coon Rapids... 6 boxes per customer. Sounds like Fleet had some earlier as well... Plenty out there if you look, sounded like the manufacturers were getting things caught up on the ammo side and I figure it will ease a bit after the first of the year when everyone is sitting on their wallets after their payroll withholding goes up a couple hundred bucks a month. :)

Looks like $0.33 per round for steel and $0.50 for brass cased is about normal for the time being at retail.

Good luck finding mags or AR rifle components still, nothing out there... though there was a single DPMS 16" AR10 pattern rifle sitting in a rack at Cabelas about an hour ago for $1099.
