380 ammo price question

Postby spyder357 on Sun Feb 24, 2013 1:55 pm

Hey guys, fairly new to handguns especially .380. The few boxes I've bought have been about .37c (Blazer fmj aluminum) to .48c (Winchester fmj brass) a round.

Can anyone give me an idea if those are decent prices (and if not what the usual non panic price is), was looking for bulk online and luckgunner hadit a couple of days ago but it was around 50c a round (1000 rds). Seems outrageous for handgun ammo to me.

Sounds about right...

I prefer Federal across the board but haven't had much luck finding it lately.

That's a little high....if I remember correctly, WWB at Wally World is in the $34-36 range plus tax and I just picked up a couple boxes of PMC the other day at Arnzen for a few bucks more than that. It's out there, you just have to find it.

Until very recently I've been able to get RWS .380 FMJ for $15-16 a box. The last few weeks it's been more scarce. It shoots well, zero problems except trying to find the brass later since my P3AT seems to chuck it a good distance!

Those megaboxes of .380 is practically all that is left at Brooklyn Park Fleet Farm. They also have Blazer .45 colt ammo, but otherwise that's it.

They were 250 round boxes for $80 which cam out to $16/50rds. That is the cheapest I have seen .380. Normal prices that I have seen are in the $18/50rd box range. Fleet Farm in Lakeville had some Blazer 250 bulk packs earlier around 3:30 today for their normal price which I think was $89.

In general .380 pricing is right about in line with .40S&W pricing.
