Tour of Federal Premium® Ammunition

Postby someone1980 on Sat Aug 02, 2008 9:29 pm

In conversation with people this has come up several times. I am wondering:

1. Are you interested in taking a tour of Federal to learn more about how they load so much ammo?

2. Know if Federal offers tours (or work there)?

If there is sufficient interest I will contact Federal and see what I can find out. If we have an employee on the board please let me know if you could be an initial point of contact.

Thank you

WE do have an employee on the board, but I have not seen him here in a while. However he did log in today, so maybe he will see this and talk to us, so far, our contact has been that hes a real decent guy.

I got a pm from a board member who did not want to be identified as a Federal employee, but is in good standing:

Hey, I'm another Federal employee that mnglocker is talking about. I wish we did allow tours to regular people/enthusiasts. The only people that get tours are VIPs, like Barnes, or the swat team, etc.

Thanks for your help, and your interest.

The only people that get tours are VIPs, ...........
I don't belong to that group anymore.

But maybe they would consider a group of Minnesota permit holders, maybe sponsored by some training organizations?

I don't know what they would need, I am just throwing some thoughts out there, but if Federal would recognize a group from this forum, that would be great and I for one would enjoy a tour very much.

So if it was possible, it would most likely be during the week, would there still be the same interest in attending?

Some of you already know I work there.

I wrote a bunch of stuff, revised it several times and finally deleted it after decided the most "keep my job friendly" thing I could say was...go ahead and ask. The worst thing they can do is say no.

................Well, pretty much.

This discussion came up on ARFCOM a few months ago and a couple of Federal employees answered there. No plant tours to the public. They used to do annual plant tours for family, but that was it, and has since been discontinued.
