Well, it broke 70 up north too, gorgeous day even if there are still 3 foot drifts in the yard and the lake has 22" of good ice yet.
Decided to finally get out the DD 300Blk AR that I bought the Monday after Sandy Hook (and just before the craze). Delayed gratification to say the least. Sweet rifle!
As I only had two boxes of ammo from Midway, I spent the last month gathering together 300BLK reloading supplies from the Interwebs to add what I already had.
Loaded up 20 rounds of 147gr FMJ pulled surplus with 16.5gr of H110 pull-down surplus powder (used for .30 carbine in the past) on the Hornady progressive. Brass was converted LC from Brad's fine service, FMJs from Pat's reloading. Powder from GIbrass.com. Set up a paper target @ 40 yards. All shot nicely, cycled fine, and the brass was barely dented. All 20 hit the rings of the target with iron sights, got lucky with 3 in the bullseye, so sighting in this rifle won't be too tough. Loaded up 200 more plinking rounds for the upcoming summer months. Will start working up the 125 gr hunting loads starting tomorrow, if I have a 9 volt battery for the chrony. Nicest Saturday I've had in some time.
