I believe the small arms treaties within the UN have dried up most of the 7.62 NATO surplus ammo from that part of the world that would have been imported in quantity after the late 90's, a lot of what was in circulation before the most recent panic was either Euro stuff from private stashes or bottom of the barrel domestic warehouses, Maylasian/Pakistani/Indian or other misc. stuff from private stashes.
The last time I saw some at Gunstop (pre Sandy Hook) the last boxes sold for $13 a pop (berdan primed RG). You could buy new, commercially produced PMC or PRVI 147 grain FMJ ball boxer primed for around $15. It's almost as cheap to catch the green/yellow box 150 grain Remington or Federal SP hunting ammo on sale...
Anyway, I'd say in the current market $1 a pop or less each is "normal" based in limited availability, $0.80 or less is a good price.
