I picked up a few boxes of Federal AE 9mm there yesterday. $16.99 a box I think.

Ammo at Cabelas, rodgers

Everything is a 2-3 dollar per box higher than before the "crisis" Herters 9mm was 12.99, AE5.56 bulk was $43 per box.

There was plenty of .22 Remington Goldens, Min-Mags, Federal Champions on the shelf when I arrived at Gander around 0930 this morning. Also a very good supply of Federal, Remington, Winchester and Fiocchi 9mm.
After leaving Gander, I stopped at Cabela’s and they were also well stocked with the popular ammo......22, .380. 9mm, .40 and .45!

I was at Cabelas myself, picked up a brick of Federal 22 LR for $22, I think it was. I can't believe I spent that much but it is some of the first I've seen in months and I wanted to burn off that plinking this weekend with the step kids rather than my target stuff. I almost picked up one of the Federal 100 round bulk packs of 223 but passes as I have enough of that to last a while. I should have grabbed some more 303 Brit but I foolishly stopped at only one box. I did score two pounds of H-4350 which I am getting low on. I've been playing with the 416 Rigby and it eats a can of powder pretty quickly at 90 some grains a throw.

No primers though, except a couple boxes for 50 caliber. Rifle bullets are pretty well picked through and I didn't even bother to look at the handgun shelves after seeing the lack of rifle supplies. I was tempted by the Kreighoff double in the Gun Library but the price is still a little too rich. Maybe they will be more receptive to a discount in a couple more months.

I didn't bother with Gander. The line was rather long when I first drove by and I hate shoving through crowds. I'll see what is available the next time I venture that way. I wasn't greatly impressed the other times though they did have subsonic 22 LR on hand and the prices on what few rifle and pistol primers they had on hand were reasonable considering how scarce they are. Their used gun prices are another thing.

Every time I've bought a gun at a Cabela's gun library, I have always asked if "they will deal" and they have done 10% every time. Food for thought.

Likewise, I've bought a Cooper & a Kimber rifle straight out and traded a M70 for another Kimber they had. Each time I got a better deal than the original price. Try that at ripoff Gander Mountain on a used gun!

I was also in the Rogers park store and they had a log of ammo. They had Herters .40 50rd box for $17.99, which is less than I was paying, .223 box of 20 for $9.99

All of their ammo was less expensive per round than the new Gander Mountain in Rodgers. During the week of their grand opening, GM prices were not bad, but now they are back to normal. It will be interesting to see how GM competes with Cabelas, if their prices are always higher.

Brick of .22 Remington yesterday for $23.00.
Also saw a Model 71 .348 Winchester in the Gun Library looking exactly like mine for $2800.00. [Nice to know I'm worth something  ]

Really?!?! They've had golden bullets most mornings for 23.99 a box. Wonder what made them change.

I think it was just something about that particular maker. I am just not sure what made those worth 40 cents a shot.
