How do you empty powder measure?

I have a RCBS powder measure mounted on their stand. I have lock nut holding it to the stand and just finger tighten it when it's mounted. That's enough to keep things in line during use and makes emptying it easy as well.

What kind of measure and stand are you using? For instance, I have an RCBS measure on an RCBS stand, just unscrew the locknut and dump it out-takes 20 seconds.
Remember, gun control is not about guns, it's about control.

Essentially the same as the RCBS, just loosen that locknut, pull out the measure and dump. I usually have to work the lever 4-5 times to get any residual powder out, but takes almost no time.

On my Dillon, I pull the whole thing off shake and dump, shake and dump, then blow out with compressed air.

Mine is connected to the bench not on a progressive. But I suppose if I din't lock the lock nut pulling it off the bench wouldn't be a big deal.

What powder measure do you have? My Lee powder measure is also bolted to the bench, but just the red clear plastic hopper slides straight up and off the rest of the powder measure to dump. I assumed most of them did that... Not true?

yers is probly case-activated ... I'm guessin his ain't ... single-stage?

the case-activated Hornady/RCBS is a two-piece deal ... ya loosen a thumb-nut, pop off a spring, and it slides right out!

instead of the lower case-activation unit, they got a stand ... measure sets in it, kinda like if it was right on a press?!

Thanks for finding that, but putting that money towards components would be a lot more fun, I unlocked the lock nut and will be just keeping it tight enough to keep it straight but easy enough to get it off the stand/bench.

I bought the $10 hornady dohikey, but I suppose it will take 1/2 pound of Not Spilled powder to recapture the investment
Did you just buy that beautiful firearm, or are you trying to sell that piece of crap?

I take it off the base, and dump it back in the can, then blow out whatever sticks.

The Lyman 1300 has a trap door in the back you open up and it dumps out pretty nicely. Then when it stops flowing, the whole tray comes out the back for thorough cleaning.

I can't see using the Hornady funnel personally, but to each their own. ;)

With 500 S&W that's not really a problem. With Oldman you only get 26 rounds per pound, so his problem is trying to keep his EFFEN power measure full!!
