Cool, something for us to debate at the Faribault IDPA party at Leo's.

I saw the extraction problem, or should I say half extraction.
I think you put a band aid on the Berry problem.
Talk to ya tomorrow night. 8-)

Oh ya, the jam that I had in my Colt Defender on the last night of the BUG match, that round measured 1.241.

Do think maybe a taper crimp would make it better?

I use a seperate Lee Taper crimp die on my Dillon 650. One die to seat the bullet only and the Lee Taper Crimp die in the next station apply the crimp.

That is why I like the 650 over the 550 Dillon. More stations in the press. (I run a powder check station too.)

Could it be that the case mouths are biting deeper into the lead bullets than the plated ones when you crimp them leaving more of an edge for the rims to catch on? (I don't have any idea, I'm just a re-loading noob)

The case being extracted appears to catch on the square edge of the SWC bullet on the next round in the magazine, not on the rim of that case.

Ahh, OK. Hmmm... I'd almost think it would have been more likely to catch on the lead ones rather than the plated ones. The lead SWC's I use have a sharper edge than the jacketed ones.

I'd also think the plating would make it smoother than the lead ones.

My Sig229 (40) likes them just fine -

My 45 likes the 230gr OK

Glock - I did not have favorable results. I just dont think that they work good with the Polyogonal rifling...

I couldn't agree more!!! I loaded up 50 rounds of the Berry bullets and went to the range with a XD-40 sub compact and a new Glock 27. The Glock was all over the paper. XD liked them just fine.Changed to the Hornady XTP and the Glock was awsome.
