GA Canned Heat .223

Postby macphisto on Thu Oct 02, 2008 9:00 pm

So I'm finally going to build an AR and while I plan to reload .223, I'd like to have something to work with off-the-bat and build up my brass supply.

I remember hearing bad things recently about GA .223. Was it just a temporary lapse in QA? Anybody have recent experience with the stuff? Is it safe to shoot?

I put a thread up on GT where most of the guys swear by GA Arms. I'll let you know whatever I find out. Let me know if and when you're placing an order, I need some 357Sig.

I understand this is probably annoying but I'd take 100 rounds of .223 if you wouldn't mind splitting some for me :)

This is off topic but... Bushmaster is having a sale. I bought a Del-ton upper earlier this week before seeing this. I would have bought the Bushmaster M4 if I had seen it on sale first.

Thanks Joe. I'm eying the expensive one on the bottom (in A3). Is that new-and-improved gas system worth the extra coin?

Looks like I won't be buying this based on a PM I received from somebody who knows his stuff. I'm looking into using somebody's press and doing a bulk reload of .223 once I get all my components in. You can certainly get in on that action. I'll let you know.

Pinnacle is the one to ask about the new gas piston systems.

Dangit, I just got off the phone with him an hour ago. We spent 20 minutes talking about ponies, but gas systems just didn't come up!
