8lb Jugs Varget and others

Ahlmans has at least three 8lb Jugs of Varget as of today. I picked up one for $169.99 and would have brought more back to share if I had the cash with me. They had numerous powders in 8 & 4 lb jugs. They also had decent supply of 1lb bottles of various powders.

Scheels in Mankato also had fair supply of powders and primers. They had lots of reloading supplies including new .223 brass. They also had several Dillon 650's on sale as well as 550's.

Hmmm... $170 for 8 pounds of Varget = $21.25 per pound vs. $24 per pound at FF. So you save $22 for the jug. If you go through it that much, there's no reason not to pick it up. If you're just trying to hedge your bets, it's also a good idea. With things appearing to be loosening up, however, if you're only an occasional user, not sure where the break even point is. In addition, all bets are off if another nut job tries to top Adam Lanza's body count, but I think that consideration is pretty much a permanent fact we have to live with.

At any rate, it's just good to see product on the shelves again!!

Just paid $26.00/lb for Varget at Scheels St Cloud. Not a great price but not as bad as I've seen. Gun & Gear in St Cloud had H335 and Varget for $30.00/lb.

I called them this morning and they told me they were out of 335 and only had one 1lb of Varget left so that's why I went to St Cloud, maybe the guy on the phone was wrong, who knows?

I saw 4 x 1 lb jars of Varget at Clarabela's in Owatonna. Limit of 2. The Rodentwoman volunteered to buy the other 2 but I felt that 2 was enough. I saw no "pistol" powders llike Bullseye, Eunuch, 2400, Power Pistol, etc. There were some primers though. I bought a box of .224 bullets.

According to the email I received from Gunstop Friday, their pdf file shows they have both 1lb and 8lb Jugs of Varget. Along with numerous other powders in 1lb & 8lb. I got the facebook post form Gunstop late Wednesday saying they had 1 and 8lb jugs of varget and some other powders in stock. When I got there at 10:30 Thursday morning they were out of 8lb jugs. They did have primers with a limit of 1000 per type per person. I got one of the 8lb jugs of varget and a 1lb of lil'gun from Ahlmans Saturday morning.
