220 swift brass

Postby Belgiboy on Sun Oct 13, 2013 12:26 pm

I know it's a long shot (pun most definitely intended) but does anybody have an idea where I could get some new 220 Swift brass. I would like about 300 pieces of same head stamp but I suppose I'm interested in whatever I could get.

Not to pull your leg, but have you tried Fleet Farm?? In trying to stock up, they bought a lot of weird stuff that was sitting on the shelf because nobody else wanted it, including 9x23, 45 GAP, and 225 Winchester, so 220 Swift might not be out of the question. I'd call around first, but it's worth checking out.

Is that brass or loaded ammo?

I'll second Fleet Farm, I saw some 220 Swift brass not long ago and FF is one of the two places I was. I've been to all the Twin Cities FFs over the past week and I don't remember which one it might be. The only other place would be Wolf's Den as I was there last week.

This would be brass that I saw, Winchester as it would have been the white plastic bags. Only other places I can think to try would be MidwayUSA, Graf & Sons, and Huntingtons for mail order.

I was also talking brass. I can't say for sure, but I may have seen 220 Swift, and for me it would have been Oakdale or Hudson. Seriously, they have some mainline brass now, but they started out with every weird, semi-obsolete, and funky cases that they could find a few months back.

I too saw it at the Hudson FF. It has been several weeks ago but being an oddball they might still have it. If not, try calling the FF's around the cities as most of them got the odd brass when they first started receiveing their reloading supplies. I think I also saw it at the FF up in the Blaine area.

FLASH UPDATE Was just at FF Hudson and there is NO 220 Swift brass as of this posting. Still got 32-20 and 45 GAP, but all the rest of it is for popular rifles and pistols. Sorry!!

Thanks for that. I was at the Lakeville store this morning and no 220 swift. It's the place to be for all of you 454 casull lovers and the hordes of 9x23 fanatics.

I just have my eye on a really nice 220 Swift rifle. It's a FN built Mauser action with a brand new McGowen barrel. It'd be way more sensible to get a 22-250 and maybe convert it to Ackley Improved down the line but boy that little Mauser is pretty. The ultimate goal is push a 50 gr pill as close as I safely can to 4000 fps with good accuracy (<.7 MOA).

Was at FF Carver today, had a good few diffrent calibers in brass, but no 220 Swift. Loads of 1000 round bulk packs of Federal 5.56 also.
