anyone using the deluxe quick trim from Lee?

really like it other than the hand cranking so I called Lee about making it better. They have now come out with a drill adapter number 90740 (probably still hard to find).

I use it as well, I might have to get one of those adapters.

Only twice as much, one caliber and you still have to camfer the edges

I use the Lee quick trim. Thx for the tip, I odored the adapter for the kurdless screwdriver. I'm not a big fan of Lee but some products work for me.

Originally got a Lyman with the drill chuck adapter and universal shell holder which is a great feature, but now that I'm making wildcat brass and have to inside ream my wildcat cases and keep the neck wall thickness uniform, I use a Forster Original trimmer. There is more than a couple of mils of slop in the Lyman trimmer. For case length, anything works. For concentricity, I'd only trust Forester.

Yep. And lasts more than 6 months. Which from my experience has been about the typical life expectancy of most Lee products.

Have been using my lee loaders and other lee equipment for many years with no problems. Have done thousands of rounds of everything I load. Trimmer is on at least 9000 of 300 black and 223. Still working fine. Only thing I have ever replaced was decapping pins and they where free. Considering I do a lot of processing in those calibers because i sell a lot of it I probably do a lot more than most shooters.

The adapter? It trims, boy does it ever! You want 45 colt @1.25" this is the tool for you. Yes I have it set right at the longest length, and I have the proper die. Hand crank doesn't even hit the case, with the adapter it whales and whales on it. Piece of junk.

Have not been home and won't be for a week. B4 ordering I drilled an extra handle, cut the handle part down for balance, chucked a small bolt through it and it worked with a drill. Hoping the Lee version works the same. Any ideas on what the problem might be?

Possibly the camfer blades rather than the trimmer doing the cutting?

I assume that the case is held in the same position (height) in the die irrespective of the cutter used. I think that's a safe assumption. I need to measure the distance from a point on the cutter blade assembly to the top of the unit where it "stops" against the top of the die. I will do that and report.

Frankly I have had the best trimmer experience with the Lee cutter and lock stud setup driven by that same screwdriver shown in the photos. No variation of OAL possible. No adjustment, but no chance of a variation in the length. I like to trim hot loads, .357, .44, 454, .460 etc. The 45 colt was just a test. Crimping my modest loads in 45 colt is not so critical.
