anyone using the deluxe quick trim from Lee?

A place to discuss calibers, ammunition, and reloading

The camfer blades being spring loaded could cut to almost 1/4 shorter than the trimmer blade length on the deluxe. The standard cutter would not have that problem but it doesn't camfer.

Not trying to hijack the thread, but the Little Crow WTF trimmer mentioned above is fantastic!

It looks like the length of the motorized setup is about 1mm longer than the same measurement on the manual crank setup. I bought a few large washers to adjust the length but I will be very careful. This assumes that the case, held in the die when pushed up by the ram, is held in a constant position and I believe that to be true. The whole thing is a little fiddly if you ask me, which of course you didn't.

So really if you are not doing a large amount it might not be worth the trouble.

The crank version works great if you're not doing a thousand. Taking 5 or 6 cranks is easy unless doing a BUNCH then it gets to be a PITA and the nice thing about the deluxe is that it camfers inside and out at the same time as it trims.

Kinda did ask. Interested because I had cut down another handle and drilled and tapped the top to hold a bolt which worked great other than being slightly off balance so I thought this adapter would work the same as my makeshift but apparently it does not. Might have a chance to compare and do pics of both later this week.

My comment was a weak attempt at humor.

I am not very fond of the new model and prefer the hand crank. I DO have the deluxe. If I want to go with the powerdriver I'll use the cutter and lock stud method. I don't do near the quantity you do, Larry!

Mine was cutting deep also but it came set at max depth. Few clicks of adjustment and it was right on the mark. My home made vs the new purchase picture.
