Anyone seen Bullseye lately?

Postby shovelheadmike on Wed Jan 28, 2015 9:17 am

I've been looking for the last 3-4 weeks for Bullseye, both on line and around town, nothing.Has anyone one seen it? I"m getting low and would like to stay with it,but if not, what would be you're next powder to go to.I've used 231 and Unique before, but not in a long time.I'm loading coated 185gr,SWC with 4.3gr bullseye now,I'll keep looking,I do have a few pounds, but I'm getting a little nervous!
Thanks,
Mike

I bought some Saturday at Ahlmans, they had lots of it on the shelf. $18.99 for a 1 lb bottle, 1 container limit on powder. They also had plenty of Unique, but it was a dollar more. I haven't seen any 231 for awhile.

Last time I saw Bullseye was in Hudson FF about 4 months ago, and at under $20 for a pound I bought one on general principle.

I'd check that out carefully when (if) it arrives. It seems odd that someone would sell a hard to find powder for well below market rate on Armslist. That website has a tendency to draw scammers.

I've received powder jugs with LESS THAN advertised weight of powder within.

Double check before purchasing.

I picked this up in town,it is older stock, but sealed and it appears good, opened it,smells good, looks good, looks like the last keg I bought soo....I'll load up a few and see if it goes bang. The guy is selling off some older stock, primers, bullets,Etc.nothing I need.
Hopefully, this works out, seemed to be a good guy,B.S.ed about shooting and reloading for about 15 mins.

Just a follow up on this,I loaded up 10 rounds of this powder to try,it grouped just like the new bullseye I have,so it's good to go,also just got another 2500 coated 185gr SWC,it should keep me busy for a bit.

Bullseye 8# on shelf last week in Omaha. First time in 2 years. Bought 2. It's back in 1# for the small volume shooter. My guess it is used in 22 LR, making it hard to find. You should find it once you look outside of Mpls territory.

2 kegs....that's a score! I don't suppose you like to sell me one.I got an #8 keg back in January, but between shooting in 2 leagues, practicing and now my son's got the bug(free ammo AND guns from dear old Dad) I've been going thru it pretty quick.I just started looking last week cause I figured it would take me a while to find some and I did not want to run out.
Thanks,

Wideners had it, along with BE86, Green Dot, and Power Pistol.
Actually, .22 LR uses slower powder usually. For example, 3N37 was a .22 LR powder before coming out for reloaders.

I did a little "horse trading",.410 shot gun[that I haven't shot in years] and some $$ for a keg.I think that's the first gun I ever sold, traded, etc.but it worked out for both of us....so I'm good for a while.

I don't know about "easy".....I looked everywhere, every store,on line, asked around at the range, people standing on the corner.....it was almost as bad as looking for .22's.I was always a day late,"we had some",or " I saw some in_________ Iowa".I'm just glad I found it,I see primers on the shelf now so MAYBE,it's getting better, hope so,
