Price for a Hornady ProJector press?

Postby Lil' Dog on Wed Mar 30, 2016 5:42 pm

A co-worker has a Hornady Projector progressive press. It is probably 15 years old. It is the press, primer feeder, powder charger, etc... everything but a set of dies. I am not familiar with older style Hornady. It is not latest model, but that does not matter to me. Anybody have one? Do you remember what you paid?

Is he offering to sell it to you, or are you looking for one?

I had one for 25 years, the only problem I had with it was broken decapping pin, good press, but, Hornady don't stock parts for them anymore, just an FYI. If you can get it at a good price, Hornady offered a trade in,[call Hornady and check]send in old press and $200,00 and they send out a new press. A new one is $450.00, soooo...I like the new one.

Actually, the new one (LnL AP) can be had as low as $390 - check http://midsouthshooters.com - that's where I bought mine. No personal experience with the old Hornady, but I'm very happy with my LnL AP. The big concern with the old one, as shovelheadmike said, is parts availability; when (not if) something breaks, you're going to have some serious trouble finding replacement parts, whereas the current stuff is easily available from Hornady *and* multiple retailers and internet vendors.
