Nosler 357mag Data

So I picked up some Nosler Sporting Handgun 158gr. JHP bullets. The load data from Nosler online (which matches the Nosler 8 manual) seems wildly inaccurate...
https://load-data.nosler.com/load-data/357-magnum/

So for Federal brass with WSPM primer they claim:
2400 -- 12.3.gr -- 1520 fps
IMR4227 -- 15.0gr -- 1095 fps

In what world would that work? Hodgedon lists 14.5gr H4227 with the same primer and a 158gr XTP at 1402 fps. Alliant lists 14.8gr 2400 with a CCI 500 and a 158gr Speer GDHP at 1265 fps.

Just goes to show you why you should always review several sources before loading. I e-mailed Nosler and will be curious to see what they say.

I use only maximum powder charges using WIN296 for 357Magnum loadings in my GP100 6"Heavy. 140 grain XTP's are my preferred load except for deer hunting when I switch to 180 grain XTP's, again with a max load of WIN296/H110. (158's are an obsolete projectile in my opinion.)

Otherwise I use 38Spcl cartridges loaded with WIN231.

The load range appears right with other manuals. The velocity is totally hosed up.
For 158 grain:

Lyman Pistol & Revolver #3: 2400
11.3 grs - 14.9 / 938-1279 FPS-
Sierra manual 5th Ed. 2400
14.0 grs. - 15.0 / 1200 -1250

Lyman Pistol & Revolver #3: IMR-4227
12.2 grs. - 16.1 / 944 - 1249 FPS

Speer #13 IMR-4227
15.0 grs. - 17.0 grs / 1003 - 1126 FPS

Be sure to let us know what Nosler says about that 1400-1500 velocity range!!

Yes correct the charge weight is a valid load. Though the bottom end of 2400 at 11.3gr is pretty light.

Send in the error to Nosler and see what you get back - EM's are free anyway....

Did they use the same test gun for velocity?
Let us know what they say.

Nosler Data says 8.3" H-S Prec.
Alliant says 10"
Hodgedon says 10"

So Nosler's barrel is 1.7" shorter but I doubt that would result in a ~300fps drop using 4227 and a magical increase of ~300fps using less powder for 2400.

No response yet to my e-mail I sent them but I will let you know what they say.

No, it has happened before that a company has done some new tests, using a different gun, but still includes old data from an older gun, and not properly referenced what was used for each load.
