Where to buy Black Powder?

Postby snatiep on Sat May 20, 2017 6:20 pm

Hello Everyone,

I live in the White Bear Lake area and was wondering if anyone knows where to purchase some real black powder locally?

I was at Cabelas in Woodbury this morning and all they have are the Pyrodex type.

I haven't been up to Wolf's Den in Hugo but will check them out. Maybe Joe's Sporting Goods?

Thanks,
Nate

I was given a thunder mug/signal cannon about a month ago. Small one with a 3/4" bore.

Every website I've looked at suggested using authentic blackpowder vs. Pyrodex for best effect. I can get Pyrodex at Fleet Farm so maybe I'll pick up a can of the RS and give it a try?

The reason I asked is because I have two 1lb cans of 4f powder and a half can of 3f that I have no use for.

Same question in 2020. Might be purchasing a muzzleloader from a friend. Is the answer still Ahlmans for authentic black powder?

Thanks!

Track of the Wolf just west of Elk River off Hwy 10 has it too. They specialize in black powder firearms.
