Economical .308 practice ammo.

Postby Jack's My dog on Thu Aug 10, 2017 1:13 pm

I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for an economical 308 round for general range practice out of a bolt gun. Looking for something to send down range while working on general rifle fundamentals, and not so much the best groups in the world or cleanest.I know I can put time in dry firing which is the most economical :D . The Dicks flyer had their Field and Stream ammo at a pretty good price, any one have any experience with that?

Thanks, JJ. I guess I should clarify I am looking for recommendations on brands, specific lines, not so much the price overall. Maybe I am worrying to much.

I have surplus available if you have any interest in military FMJ.

Works great out of my AR-10.

How many rounds would you want?

Hornady 150 FMJ can be purchased in bulk. Same with 168 A-Max. The surplus Oldman has would work great too.
