Hornaday Black

Postby yukonjasper on Sat Jan 20, 2018 11:59 am

What is the story with Hornaday Black? Seems like it's their answer to Winchester White Box. Am I on the right track? Can someone enlightened me?

Thanks in advance.

From further reading, looks like they specifically designed the rounds to work with MSRs.

I agree. I'm not a reloader so I'm not up on what different powders are capable of but hard to believe there is a magic formula that works universally.

It seems to be a bit hit or miss. Shoots really well for some and not so well for others. I’d get some and try it before getting a lot of it.

Adjustable pressure rounds. I believe the self adjust to your gas system. Or maybe they just got some black boxes from their marketing department.

Sounds like it’s mostly branding. The Grendel, I believe, replaced the Amax Match ammo.
