Did this state institute a tax on ammo? Just got back from cabelas. Bought some bullets. My receipt shows 2 taxes. One for the state at our usual rate, one for 0.9%. Can post the receipt if someone wants to see it. I know other states are doing this but never heard if Minnesota started this crap.

If you would post the receipt?

Is their one line at 6.875 and a 2nd line at .9? If so then that is correct for Rogers. I believe they have a small city adder and the Hennepin county.

There is a federal excise tax by the way on guns and ammo but it is baked into the cost.

They are just separating the base state tax from the Hennepin county additional tax and the city of roger tax. Both of which are additional sales taxes that have nothing to do with guns or ammo specifically but apply to everything taxable.

.25% the rest is the Hennepin county tax.
