The only thing I can think of is for a person to become 'one of the club' to gain trust and then try to push an agenda or sway opinions in the future. i.e. An infiltrator. Maybe he's FBI!

I'm trying to decide if it's a good, or bad thing, that as taxpayers, we might be paying the ATF for that level of investigative competence.

My guess is it's some anti, who has us collectively pegged as a bunch of hayseeds.

I get what would lead you to that conclusion, but most of his posts weren't attention-getters. They were filler. Mostly useless one-liners with a couple meaningful looking posts says "I want to become one of the gang, fast" more than "look at me, I'm cool". We'll probably never know though... I'm guessing he won't be back.
