I’m learning a lot about reloading and before I go further I need some gouge on my loads-
I trimmed and primed LC brass (Wolf gold primers); I’m making a batch for 200yrd service rifle and am using 52gr Hornady Match HPBT. But- thinking I’d use up some powder floating around- IMR-4064- I get a recipe for +/-24gn. So using my RCBS uniflow and trickler and electronic scale, I get 24 and put it in the cases- here’s my paranoia- it basically fills the case up past the shoulder and starts into the neck. I’ve loaded 15 rounds so far but want to stop in case this just ain’t right and I’m erroneously making nuclear rounds.
(btw, 4064 does not like to go through the Uniflow easily!)
I’ve OAL’d the round in my rifle and there’s no way I could seat a 69/77 with this powder.
Scrap the powder? Or is this ‘normal’?
