There is of course a secondary market among competitive shooters ( re-loaders trading their existing inventory of components between themselves), but if you look at present day cost for each of the components ( minus the 50BMG brass) you are looking at over $5.60 per round. The 50BMG Hornady A-Max cartridge is sourced with brand new Hornady brass ($7.20 apiece on Midway USA), so I'm surprised that they are only $9.00 each nowadays...
