No .45 ACP - Anywhere!

Postby Pat on Tue Mar 10, 2009 3:56 pm

I can't find any .45 ACP, 230 gr FMJ ammo anywhere. Natchezss.com is completely out, and Georgia Arms is projecting availability out at 7 weeks.

What's going on? Spooky...

I've run into the same thing, seems like locally it's blazer (got the last few boxes at Dicks) or nothing. My last order for 2000 rounds on Sportsman Guide was recently cancelled.

I don't understand this shortage you speak of. I did inventory downstairs and have about 4K loaded and components for another 6K... ;)

Pat, I was able to find some aluminum cased blazer at Mills' Fleet Farm for 14.99. Everyplace else I looked was between 20 and 23 a box.

Am not too sure that I like the idea of shooting aluminum cased ammo in my 1911's. Aluminum oxide is one of the hardest metal oxides known, and much harder than the relatively soft steel of my 1911's internals.

Yo! What ever happened to our resident chemist, Mssr. .50 GI? Where's ol' Seismic been hiding?

I'm mainly talking about the large volume, discount on-line dealers. Natchezss.com, Ammoman.com etc. I just placed an order with GeorgiaArms.com, and they quoted me 7 weeks for delivery!

Try buying locally, Pony Express Reloades has a lot of ammo on hand, 45acp, 9mm, even 10mm just sitting there waiting to be bought. In fact the guy there today said bussiness was kind of slow, I think they are a close kept secret, but I have shot there ammo several times and found it to be very good quality,
