Yeah I do, but it gets pretty depressing.

I used to check that everyday when I was actively shopping online for .223 / 5.56. Have since realized that although it's updated daily, it's not all that great of a resource for pricing. Doesn't do me any good to know that ammoman or wideners is selling AE for $350 a case and that both are out of stock. The rest of AR15's ammunition forum is great though, especially the stickies about each type of ammo. To the extent you'd ever stumble upon some old ammo in an out-of-the-way gun shop or hardware store and couldn't identify it, posting a pic of it or asking a question about it at AR15.com would answer your questions.

I actually go here the most on AR15.com, which isn't that often.

The best place I know of to do a quick check for gun shows.

Did you folks notice the big stack of .223 at Bill's show over the weekend?

$500/1k rounds, + tax :o

I tend to go here for prices...

http://gun-deals.com/index.php

or directly to some of my favorite vendors...

http://ammoman.com

http://aimsurplus.com

http://natchezss.com

http://outdoormarksman.com

note...Dick's has .223 on sale this week at $5.98/20 and AIM Surplus has .223 for $112.50/500

Yep, noticed. Had to actually stand there staring at it for a long moment while I did the math over and over in my head thinking to myself that just can't be the right price. But that's what it actually was. There's no reasonable excuse for that.

Did anybody buy a box of ammo to test fire a .223? I'm curious what price Bill's was charging for that and whether it was the same ammo or not.

Edited to add that I just saw on another board that the Brainerd Gander price for 200 mega-paks of UMC are running 99.99 as well. I suspect that is what they are going for at every Gander. Maybe Bills and Gander buy from the same dealer?

Also, I haven't checked personally yet, but rumor has it that Walmart has upped their Remington 20 rounders from 6.47 to 9.24. And finally, although I haven't personally checked this yet either, apparenlty Minnesota's Sportsman's Warehouse had AE for 6.99 a box this weekend.

I sure am glad that I reload and have a small surplus of brass.

These .223 prices are going through the roof! I still load 55 gr v-max for $.22 per round, about 1/3 the price of black hills.
I need to work on getting my 9mm prices down, they are only about 10 cents per round right now.

I did. Had the urge to shoot the M4. 20 rds/ ~$12. That kept my range time short. 60 rounds doesn't last long :(
