Dented/imprinted brass

Postby rucker on Mon Sep 17, 2007 11:27 am

I just tumbled my first batch of brass (.45) and noticed that there is a a dent/imprint about 2-3mm long on every case parallel to the case mouth. It isn't enough to deform the case so I wouldn't think it is a problem but was wondering if that is normal. The cases are from WWB shot out of my Springfield XD. I couldn't get a picture to come out but maybe you know what I am talking about. Is that anything to worry about?

Hitting the ejection port will do that to cases. Load them just fine!

could it be from the next round loaded into the mag, meaning from the base rim being pressed onto the top of the previously loaded round?

I get a ding on just about every round I shoot out of my .45 from the brass hitting a corner on the ejection port.. I'm gonna need to take the gun in and get the ejection port ground down a bit..
