Yes, it does sound good. I hunted squirrels and rabbits as a kid. My mom, who was normally a good cook, did seem to struggle with wild game, though. I think that's why I don't hunt either of them any more. They usually were tough and didn't have the greatest taste.

When I lived in Europe, wild game was on the menu all the time. There is nothing better than roast venison with gravy and potato dumplings! ;)

We used to eat a lot of squirrel when we lived in WI. Here in MN my yard is full of nice fat squirrel's but you can't shoot them inside city limits. Our hunting land has a lot of deer and grouse but only the tiny little red squirrels that are too small to eat.

I used to hunt them with a S&W .22 revolver. Good practice for handgun deer hunting.

Well, we headed out for the southern part of the state looking for Fox squirrels about 10:00 this morning and we only got as far as Appleton and decided 10 was all we needed. Headed back home--froze 5--ate 5. My best friend of 50 years and I ate squirrel and taters and gravy and fresh sliced tomatoes until we nearly popped. The best part of the day however was the time spent with a friend, a best friend, a childhood friend, a friend that would drop everything to come and get you, no matter the cost, danger or location. It was a very good day. :D :D :D

Is there a reason other then size that you prefer the fox over the grays?
We used to hunt them near Little Falls but that dried up years ago, Anyone know of an area with huntable numbers that are willing to share the location?
