My friend and I are looking for a HOG Hunt. Any recomendations?
We'd like to stay with 600 miles of the MPLS metro and avoid driving through Illinois.
We expect to spend some cash on guides and lodging etc. or is this unnecessary.

It seems reasonable that there would be. Some of the biggest populations found in WI have been in the St Croix, and Miss. River valleys, and they are reported to be excellent swimmers. The environments on both side of those rivers is similar; mixed ag/ woods/ wetlands. But the species that's a problem in WI doesn't seem to be much reported in MN.

Mybe if some crocodiles were released into the St Croix and Mississippi Rivers the spread of pigs into MN could be prevented? By the same token, the crocs could possibly help control the numbers of jumping carp coming up stream. I think that would be a great plan as my only contact with the rivers is to occasionally take the Hwy 8 bridge to get to Menards, Walmart, and St Croix Outdoors.

I just spoke with a customer of mine on Tuesday, he said that he had just returned from a hog hunt in WI. I didn't get the location or the name of the place but apparently it was on a 600 acre penned game farm. He said the guys with his group hunted with shotguns (slugs), ARs, and Bow. He got a pig, butchered and kept the meat, says it is really good and the whole deal cost him $400.00. He said that the guys that didn't get a pig only paid $100.00 and that it wasn't like shooting tame animals in a farm pen. They walked for three hours before they came onto pigs. I will try to contact him to get more info on this place as I am interested in doing this now too.

Sharks have been found in Lake Pepin. And possibly Minnehaha Falls too.

Contact Jeff at. BBZMINN (at) charter.net
he has MANY ranches he sets hunts at.
I'm in South Texas in a blind hunting Boar as I type.
(Got to the blind a little early and had time to browse my favorite website)
In two days I've downed seven so far including a 250lb Boar.
Jeff's a great guy and won't put you anywhere but good ranches.
I'm not sure how far north he goes, but it would be worth the email.
Be sure and tell him "Stealth" Mike sent ya. (The nicknames a given one, long story)

Ive never ate the rib meat. The chops and ground pork is awesome. Hogs 100lbs and less is ideal, anything larger and it's not too good.

Maybe we should put together a forum hog hunt.

I am going with some hunting buddies hunt hogs in Texas next February. If someone wanted to put together a forum hunt, I could go twice. :D

That's kinda depressing. I was looking forward to some slab o ribs. Anyway pork is pork, and I'll never turn down a pork chop. Thanks for the info Mike.

That sounds like fun, actually.

I'd shoot them, and eat them, but I ain't dressing them.
