My trapping has gone much better than my deer hunting. I'm at 6 sparrows down, but haven't been up on a ladder to check the remaining traps in a few days.

I got a small buck on Monday, 11/07. Sorry, no pics in the field, and now I'm home and deer is skinned and ready to cut up.

Our party of six got two on Saturday and two on Sunday. One nice buck and three does. Nyffman gets bragging rights this year with a hundred yard---one shot kill. Deer did not go one foot from where it was shot. We'll see what this weekend brings.

One of my two antelope taken out in Wyoming. Just went out with leftover doe tags. This one was dropped at 585 yards with my custom 7mm Mag

But of course at the very same time my brother was out in Montana and slightly outclassed me.....but at least I got two, and his was only 30 yards away

I hit a grouse with my work truck today.

Otherwise, zippo.

All I got was a grouse too, though not with the truck....

We arrived at the hunting shack on Friday and found a broken window. Initially thought break in or stray bullet??? Upon further inspection found some feathers around the broken glass. We entered the house and found the live grouse sitting on a chair in the living room. :o

We were able to capture the grouse after a few minutes of chasing it around the house and it is in the freezer now... :D

Took a couple hours to clean up after the bird, must of been there for a while with the amount of bird crap all over the house. Don't know what it was eating, amazing that it was still alive after smashing through the glass and old style metal screen...

got a ziplock in the fridge with some fresh inner tenderloins to have for supper! got a medium-sized doe around 8:00 this morning. sad to admit that I missed the first shot at ~130 yds or so :( , but she was nice enough to u-turn :) and stop again at around 70-80 yds for a much better second shot - lungs and liver and assorted arteries (a little too far back so missed the heart, but didn't mess up any shoulder meat :D ).

as a bonus, she actually walked up the hill back towards home to make the drag shorter and easier! only made it about 35 yds from where I shot her - could tell she was hit good by her staggered gait and twitchy tail. thought about taking another shot, but where she was standing made that a no-brainer -- she was at the top of the hill with the house and resort cabins in-line downrange so just watched her to make sure she didn't go anywhere. gave her a half hour and climbed down - found nice bright blood so figured I nailed lungs. wasn't a huge blood trail, and the smattering of snow/sleet was more of a tracking hindrance than a help. walked up the little hill and spotted her right where I thought she went down.

now I'd better go to town and get a managment tag so I can hunt again tonight at the other property!

Nice job. I see you also gave yourself a little bonus by missing the heart. I've heard they're tender and tasty. That's what lumpjaw tells me anyway. :? He has at least half a dozen of the little morsels in the freezer. :D

I had to make do with imagining it in my head to the Benny Hill theme song. I made myself laugh!

Uh-Oh -- I had the same thought about theme music when I read your first comment... laughed again when I saw this one!

I'm not a fan of them, so offered it to the guys hunting with me, but they didn't want it either, so we left it for the birds and scroungers! :o

Actually, it wasn't quite that long. Unless I had one or more ADD moments while stepping it off, which isn't totally out of the question, it was probably closer to 75 yds. But other than that, yeah, she went down like she was hit in the head with a really big hammer.
