I don't suppose you'd ever consider showing a guy how to make the stuff? For a bottle of your favorite or thereabouts...

Does goalie really look like he knows what he is doing, or is he just a good marine following instructions? ;-)

My new friend, that I brought home with me. I found him, lost, wandering in the woods. Isn't he just cute?

Probably tasty too...

6 pointer

I didn't get out until yesterday morning. He walked by me in the morning; he was at my 4 o'clock, I wasn't about to take a "Texas heart shot," as that's what he'd left me with by the time I got turned to face him. He slowly disappeared into the brush without leaving me a clear shot.
After going in for breakfast, I went back to the same spot. He came from another side approaching a scrape line.

I needed some meat in the freezer, so I sent him an invitation in the form of a 140 gr Barnes TSX. That 7mm-08 is rather persuasive.

I definately made sure he was in no condition to make an escape with my rifle mounted, before I took the pic.

I should most likely have pixellated the hat and left my face intact. :D

Standing in a tree stand so I could rotate to shoot to my 7 o'clock. Off hand, at about 45 yds. I had to set my mobile phone down and pick up the rifle first, though.

Bang flopped this guy with my 7mm at 300 yrds. Those copper TTSX's are Awesome!

I helped pull this beast out of a river that he jumped off a cliff into, so I get partial credit. ;) You can tell from our faces that it is frickin COLD and the wind was 40mph.

I shot mine a 825yards with a Remington Model 660 .308 150gr sst @3050fps , it was in honor of my father, his rifle. I usually hunt deer with a 270WBY mag 120gr solid.

Cpl images from the shooting area..

I took these two last Sunday morning. I seen the doe heading my way kind of foraging then seen the buck following. I have seen alot of bucks the last few years but haven't taken one since I put a 130 inch class 8 pointer on the wall in 2006. I shot the doe at about 40 yrds with a 4 inch GP100 loaded with 158 gr Buffalo Bore rounds. She piled up in her tracks. Well the buck split for a little while then came back. He couldn't figure out what happened to his girlfriend and why she wouldn't get up. He's grunting at her, licks her face, licks her hind end, gets his antlers under her hind quarter and tries to nudge her up. I watched this for about a half hour and decided to take him too. I double lunged him and he ran about 60 yards before slowing down and crashing. I've been handgun hunting for 17 years but always with a 8 inch Dan Wesson .44mag with red dot optic so useing the .357 mag was exciting if not making me a little anxious about stopping power. My shots were well placed and the round both were stuck in the hides on the otherside of the animals.

The thing that makes me sad is to see a gut shot deer get away and die a slow death. The older I get, the more I appreciate and respect life. In my younger days I often took "hope" shots at deer. These days I pass on anything I can't make a clean humane kill on.

+1! I passed on 6 deer this year as I did not feel good about the shot that was presented. I am totally proud of my party this year. 24 deer harvested for 12 folks and none were gut shot or shot in the ass.
