My opener was about what I expected- too many people on too little water, with not enough birds, then people started skybusting. Only managed 4 birds Saturday, and only found 2 of them...)

I finally joined the rest of the world and spent some money on a mud boat, and because of that on sunday, I limited out once all the people left the lake to watch the 'queens on the tube. (1 duck before 10 AM, 2 redheads, a mallard and 2 teal after.)

Hunted with my brother's friend who was a complete newbie.

Made me realize how much of this stuff is not "simple" if you have not done it before.

You should have called the DNR - what he did violates the hunter harassment statute.

This thread is making me hungry. Someone send me a surplus duck.
To the two forum members who have used lines from my posts as their signatures, can't you quote Jesse Ventura or some other great Minnesotan instead of stealing mine? - LePetomane

Depending on how involved you want to get next time -- take a cell phone pic and email to the local CO. All their phone numbers and email addresses are available through the DNR's website, and they all have laptops/internet in their trucks. Take a shot, email the details to the CO...and go about your day. That way, once the opening rush has calmed a little, they can get back over there and extract some justice.
Nothing to see here. Continue swimming.

I did contact the DNR and the guy is right I was wrong. It is like the story that was said earlier. New guy bought some land even though the public used the spot for many years he does not want any one using it. Like I said though I did find a 100% way to get on to the spot just a bit more trouble some. Still waiting to find out about my other spot though.

Well on Saturday between the 5 of us we managed to retrieve 13 blue wing teal and 6 woodies and we lost 2 more woodies to the over growth. I hate loosing birds. On Sunday 4 of us were able to find everything that was knocked down which was 12 woodies and 2 blue wing teal. So I am not complaining. I just hope that the season continues as well as it started.

OK - didn't realize it was private property that he was blocking. Absolutely within his rights to do that. Doing that on public property is a big :shameonyou:
