unfortunately i can't make it that far north... mostly on account of things i witnessed in Funkley... which is a whole nother story that needs at least 3 beers to be properly told...

but jsut don't have the time to make it that far. the vacation bank is tapped for the year so i'm relegated to overnights... :(

might be an ice fishin trip in teh works for Feb though so i'll give a warning shout if we make it up there again soon :D

he was a 4 point fork buck with brow tines measuring .860 with my caliper. couldn't be an extra 1/8", huh?! it dressed out around 140ish i'd guesstimate, but must have weighed around 300 while we were dragging him.

BTW, Lunchbox is hunting for the first time this year, and while i've been hunting off and on for over 17 years, this was my first deer. my main hunting buddy (dad) is a thorn in my side when we're in the woods.

the reason i mention this is because we didn't know how to gut this ****, so my dad came up from work to do it and show us how. well, he got there after 6pm, and it was pitch black outside, we didn't learn anything. he gutted it, and it wasn't too bad to drag from there on out!

i'll try to get the pics up, nothing special though, just some freezer-filler!

here he is

I work with thousands of women. I hear a LOT.

I've never, ever heard a woman say that size doesn't matter.

Justa-say'n......
It turns out that what you have is less important than what you do with it.

I finally got out on Sunday.
I found this guy wandering all by by his self.
I decided to offer him a ride home (he looked so lonely, and scared).
I sent him a 140gr Barnes TSX invitation; he just couldn't resist:

He's been a wonderful guest at meal time since.
