There is a good supply of public land available to hunt. W/ a some weekends of scouting on foot plus Google maps, one can now have great success in those areas. We hunted public land for years and did very well. So if you want to get out again it is waiting for you! :)

If its brown its down, if it flies it dies!

I have been scared off by the density of hunters and my perceived lack of safety of some of the idiots that hunt public land. That's the way it is with Ducks, but at least the effective range of #2 shot means it is just an annoyance, rather than a danger.

Same here. I'll take my chances hunting with Dick Cheney.

I've had the same experience w/ ducks but have had better luck w/ deer. I guess if its a choice of sitting home or deer hunting, I'll take my chances LOL.

Skip the ducks and I couldn't agree with you more!

I assume only things that you have actually killed count...

In MN the smallest I have hunted would be field mice with a .22 revolver. I think I got one in years of trying...
Legal game, doves.
Largest would be deer. Never drew a moose permit here, and I guess I never will.

Most days afield would be ducks. I just love hunting them.

World wide, dove through elephant.

I've hunted a lot of field mice, it is great fun. I shot most of them with a pellet gun but shot two with a 460 Weatherby mag. the first one I thought I did not hold the gun properly as it kicked the snot out of me- literally. The second proved I was doing things right and after the first shot I don't think it was snot coming out of my nose. Fortunately, we don't use most of our brain and what came out was that which was not used much. Or I no longer remember having used it.

I hunt really BIG GAME, game is 72" X 67" at 1000 yards.
I shoot PAPER more than anything else, and have FUN doing it.
I have shot my share of wildlife, don't need to prove anything.
This year will hunt again for deer, first time in 6 years.
Doesn't matter if I get anything or not, just going back for the experience, as I miss it.
I received an invitation from a lady I worked with back in 1996-2000 who has hunting land bordering mine in Northern Wisconsin. It should be fun, whether we hunt or not.
I need to verify the sight-in's of firearms I'm taking North.
And pack too much stuff hoping to not forget something important.
Wish me LUCK.
Hopefully I will be able to work thru my pain issues and enjoy the whole experience.
Will report back a week from tomorrow.
