Local area maps

Postby LumberZach on Sun Nov 17, 2013 10:15 pm

Anyone know where to get maps of local areas? This may be a really broad question, but I was thinking it may be nice to have some topographical maps of my hunting areas or some of the public areas I hunt. I have lightly browsed fleet farm when the maps section catches my eye, but other than that I am not really sure where to go.

County websites typically have these under GIS.

If you want printed versions, make a file and take it to Office Max or Kinko's and have them print it. Getting large format stuff isn't terribly expensive.

My experience with two groups of unfamiliar hunters at my place this year has made getting aerial maps done a bit more of a priority.

I have trails laid out on GPS, but they're so small to look at you really don't get a good idea of where things are or go.

24x18" full color, laminated, on foam board was $25 bucks or so, done while you wait. Office Max also puts out decent coupons for their print services from time to time.

Don't know if this meets your needs, but...

and select "Map Locator & Downloader"

The county maps website's usually have all that and the ability to overlay the lot lines, and any other features like 2 foot topo's and such.
