Just carpet the inside of the orange van, it should deaden the sound :D

Well, you can see from the picture the orange van is gone. I now have a nice white one.

I'll be heading back up north this week. I've been kind of thinking that I have just been hunting in over harvested areas. The Mille Lacs WMA is manicured to be the perfect grouse habitat, but I have spent many hours so far this season without ever flushing a bird.

Hearing that others have had good luck is making me frustrated. But that is the nice thing about grouse hunting; coming home with no birds in your satchel can still leave you with a smile on your face. Gosh, the woods smell good this time of year! ;)

Well, what should have been a pheasant trip this weekend, turned into just sitting at home, with a few local grouse trips(my mom hit a HORSE of all the things to be standing in the road) but we still got two more on Saturday. My mom managed to walk away with two stitches to her knuckle, and some bruising to her other hand. Below are a couple pictures of the scene.

You have to click on the photo of the horse, because, yeah, it's a dead animal.

Dang! If she had hit a moose, deer, or cow at least she would have gotten a steak out of the deal. Rotten luck.

Looking back on it, it's kind of funny since my mom raises horses as a hobby. When my dad and I got there, she was crying about the horse, blood flowing from both hands, and a sheriff's deputy trying to calm her down.

She still feels bad about the horse and I probably didn't help anything, while trying to get her to understand that she had just dodged a bullet I was making comments like "Don't worry about the horse, it's headed to the giant kibbles and bits factory in the sky, you should forget about it."

But yeah, cya all on Saturday for the EFFEN breakfast.
