The only game I saw… middle left to right and about 3/4 of the way up, if you can spot it

Ahh, the dreaded squirrel. I had about 15 around my stand at one point. Made me wonder why I did not bring my .22 handgun with a suppressor.

Didn’t shoot anything.

Could have shot a 1.5 year old 6 pointer, but since I’m looking for a good buck (4+ years old…) I’m being picky.

Seeing a lot higher percentage of fawns than in the past, though.

We took two does in the early season so the pressure is off. I watched a 6 and an 8 running around sniffing doe beds. But I'm waiting for the big guy. My DW shot a doe tonight so I guess I'll be working on that tomorrow.

Went over to a neighbors today to see the buck his dad shot. 10 point, pretty wide, but weighed 245, it's leading the big buck contest in Eagle Bend so far.

We are in a one deer zone so holding out. So far I have let 4 does and a spike pass.

Not a sign of a deer all weekend, not even the "yard deer" that show up every day to feed on the lawn. I suspect a little has to do with the neighbor to the west was up with his four grandkids for the youth season. They filled their tags though they missed a few deer according to him. I'm guessing that explains the missing yard deer as they usually come from or toward that neighbor's direction.

Based on the appearance on camera of several coyotes, I'm pretty sure there is something dead on a different neighbor's land just south of my property line. The coyotes first appeared a few days after the youth season and were still hanging around this weekend. I'm willing to guess that at least one of the "missed" deer wasn't. I'll know for sure after the season or earlier if those neighbors to the south fill their tags.

Last day in zone 1. Makes you question why you passed on all the does and small ones you saw
