I'd recommend to treat your gun like you (should) treat your car's motor. Warm weather gets thicker oil, cold weather gets thinner oil. You don't want your gun too dry, because oil displaces water. If your gun gets condensation in the action, it could freeze up if not properly oiled. Or if you are using heavy oil in cold temps, you will have a slow action at best.
I like RemOil pretty well as its pretty thin, but I'm sure there are a host of other oils that work well. Its kept my pumps and auto's free in some very cold weather. But, I also like it for warm weather. I don't really like any heavy oil or grease in my guns, but some guys are the opposite.
