What's your preferred hunting method with the .380, stalking or sitting?

I have a stick that is about 2 feet long that you are welcome to take along for back up. If you sharpen the end of it you'd probably do more damage with that :|

Real men hunt with pointy sticks.

I will be taking out the L61R SAKO finnbear in 7mag with a 3-9 VXII. The load could be one of a few. I have a tight shooting load consisting of a 139 Nosler CT/BT over 65.5 grains of H4831, pushes it to right around 3000. I also have a 160 grain Sierra GK over a max load of RL22, this also ends up pushing 3000 fps

Using my bolt action Remington 7mm-08.... Walked one of our hunting spots Sunday since it finally dried up enough to get into it and the leaves have fallen off everything and was observing the deer trails to see how they are traveling -- all of a sudden I heard a crash and a doe is about 30' from me running right at me...she stops, does a double take, then heads off north and into the adjacent corn field. nice looking doe, hopefully she'll have a few bucks running with her in a couple more weeks!!
There is no guarantee of the first without the second.

Are those expanding hollow points for hunting?

I thought they where match grade target bullets, not designed to expand or use on game, so not meant for hunting.

I was going to use some expanding hollowpoints, but after thinking about it my 870 and the vang comp can handle some slugs.
I read other people's emails

Western Field (Montgomery Ward) 20 gauge, that my buddy and hunting mentor bought when he was 14.

My very first deer hunt ever -- wish me luck!

6 foot GLOOMIS with 8# FireLine. I'll be hunting big females with white tips on their tails.

Party did OK with 2 Doe down. Confirmed Timber Wolf sighting in our area and rumor of a DNR Cougar Release in the area within the last 3 months. I thought I caught a glimpse of two wolves, but the only cougars I saw were at the Viking Bar on Sunday night - mangy and past their hunting years, but cougars just the same.

I'll give it another try this weekend.
