Coyote anyone?

Just wondering if anyone has been getting out? And having any luck?

I haven't. But I talked to a friend earlier this week who's been getting lots of them in the southern part of the state. He calls them with something he called a "KIYI", then shoots with a .17HMR.

Most of the WMAs are closed after March 1st, Thought maybe I would try and get out.

So here's a question: What do you do with the carcas? I'm assuming you skin them and take the pelts, but what about the rest?

Dont know about all of them but the ones I have visited have a sign that basically says no hunting of unprotected species from March 1- Aug something. Which as far as I know the coyote is considered a unprotected species.

Last night was great to be out, Warm no wind and a bright moon.
I called from about 10:00 until 2:00 on 5 different sets and no coyotes.
Oh well it was nice to be outside.

Well, I don't know how good the hunting would be but even if it's summer couldn't you still hunt coyotes at a state forest assuming hunting is permitted there?
