Any good place for squirrel?

Postby G-Breezy on Sat Oct 30, 2010 5:45 pm

For the past couple weeks my buddies and I have been driving all over different cities to hunt squirrel. I have been to Sherburne, Oak Ridge, and some more places I forgot the name. Have any of you that hunt seen a bundance of squirrel in a certain area? If so please do tell. Thanks a bunch. I'm more leaning towards red fox ones but any will do.

If you want to see LOTS of Fox squirrels you will want to go south of the Minnesota river in SW Mn. Drive the gravel roads and watch for corn cribs alongside the road. Picked corn adjacant to any type of woods should have the critters going back and forth storing up for winter. You should be able to shoot more squirrels than you can eat. Gray squirrels are very abundant in the rest of the state. I can hardly believe you can't find any.

I know some people at work that hunt squirells. They haven't had much luck. I said something to the effect that theyu all live in the city.

If I had more time, I'd bait them in my back yard. We've got an incredible amount of grey squirrels in our neighborhood. I have at least two active nests (3 total) in my 5 trees. I've also killed off 4 squirrels so far (I don't pursue them that much - only when I see one in the yard).

Pellet guns are illegal here (and I have enemy neighbors already), so I finally picked up some small game heads for the bow and crossbow. It's on now. :D
