I don't like this idea at all.

You wouldn't put armor all on your brake pedal.... why would you want it anywhere near the grip of your pistol?

Also, Armor all dries out vinyl and leather out like a bastard. don't use it because it's complete ****

The owner and maker of Simply Rugged holsters suggested so because it creates a protective seal. Who am I to argue with the creator of my favorite holster?

And, for the record, I never said to use armor all on the grip of your weapon, just the holster.

Nope. You didn't, and I never said you did. But in reality the proximity is close enough, and your hand makes enough contact between the hoster and the grips under normal use that it could, IMHO, present and issue. Do whatever you want, based on whatever suggestion you'd like....... Personally I'm not putting armorall anywhere near my carry gun,or the holster it lives in.

The last thing I want is an argument with the mighty Strad, but all I said was "armor all for the rest of the HOLSTER". I never thought of using armor all until the maker suggested so, and frankly I think it has added protection to my favorite holster while I'm tromping through the bush. I'm not saying to slather it all over everything, just that a light coat has been suggested to help seal and protect the outside, which it has seemed to have done nicely. If anyone has any direct experience with armor all doing harm to a leather holster, or a product that works better for protection, I would LOVE to hear ALL experiences as I am eager to constantly improve upon my knowledge base. As for the OP topic, I was merely offering my thoughts on what was working for me after going through exactly the same dilemma. So, please, someone tell us all what the best leather holster anti-squeak, cleaner-protector, make-it-last-a-million-years-without-making-a-noise-while-walking-in-the-woods miracle goop might be! Discuss! Cheers!

Just thought I would up date this thread. Have not added any lubricant yet. I have been sticking the holster under my bed and contorting it in differnt positions kinda like a baseball glove. It still squeaks a little but it is quite a bit quieter.

Noisy Holster...

Talc or baby powder has done the trick for me on a number of noisy holsters.
